Computer Use and Internet Policy

RULES FOR PUBLIC COMPUTER USE

  • Children, under the age of 8 must have a parent/guardian ready to assist them when using the computer.  Children 8 years old and older, must have a signed Internet Parental Permission form and a signed User Agreement on file. 
  • Library staff are not responsible for what children access on the internet.  The library affirms the right and responsibility of parents or guardians to determine and monitor their children’s use of library resources, including internet access. 
  • Individual users may sign up for 30-minute slots.  Slots will be given on a first-come, first-served basis.   
  • Computer users must be logged off 5 minutes before midday closures and 15 minutes before closing.  No exceptions.
  • All Internet users are responsible for what they view, download, upload, purchase, and communicate while using library computers.
  • Headphones are not currently available.  Volume must be muted on all computers. 

INAPPROPRIATE COMPUTER USE

  • Use of the internet in the library is a service to the public and inappropriate use may result in a suspension of this privilege. Inappropriate use shall be defined at the discretion of library staff and may include viewing obscene or violent material.  This policy also pertains to people using their own computers to access the library’s wireless internet connection.
  • Users may not use any Library computer for illegal purposes or violate licensing agreements or Copyright Laws. 

PRINTING

  • Printing is $.10 per page.  Black and white copies only.  Users are responsible for all pages printed, including errors or unwanted pages, so please use print preview or ask staff for assistance.
  • Color copies are available through the circulation desk for $.50 per page
  • CASH ONLY, CARDS AND CHECKS ARE NOT ACCEPTED.
